Those Here for the Party

The voice of truth is easy to hear.
Those here for the party turn a deaf ear.
Light reveals signs which are easy to find.
Those here for the party, though seeing, are still blind.

Make haste, said the man, while the sun is still shining.
What a waste. I can't be bothered while I am reclining.
Those here for the party stay asleep in their bed.
Only to wake long enough to be fed.

For the stomach guides their steps, not the Spirit of truth.
In a state of denial, they scoff at reproof.
They think they are wise, but only in their own eyes.
Wisdom from above is considered mere lies.

A life full of purpose is theirs for the asking
From the One who longs to bring life everlasting.
His desire is to bless and bring true peace and joy.
But those here for party simply want a new toy.

Some at the party will one day awake
With eyes full of tears will see their mistake.
Only then will they finally see all the signs.
They'll hear voices of warning, and heed God's designs.

But those here for the party, eyes and ears will not open.
An image of god forms in their mind to fit their own notion.
But God's voice speaks quite loud, "Dear child, Light has revealed
All you need for your life, it's forever been sealed."

God's Son paid the price to bring meaning to life.
Hope, faith, and love can replace all that strife.
Why do you refuse to receive your Lord and Savior?
Only continue to look for the next party favor?

God's final message to those here for the party:
Heed His words now or you may find yourself tardy.
For the trumpet will sound and His angels he'll send.
For you see, one day soon the party will end.
